Elena Kemmling
Technician
Elena studied Biochemistry (BSc) and Biotechnology/Biomedical Science (MSc) at Hochschule Mannheim, Germany. During her studies, she spent some time in the research group of Dr. Cornelia Lee-Thedieck at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (internship and Bachelor thesis) working with hematopoietic stem cells and then conducted her Master thesis at BRAIN Biotech AG focusing on ion channels and calcium signaling in sweat gland cells. She joined the lab of Prof. Dr. Johannes Backs in Heidelberg as a research technician in 2019. Since 2022, she has been part of Maarten’s Junior Research Group at the Innovationcampus Region Rhein Neckar. Outside the lab, Elena enjoys time with friends and family and she has been a member of a dancing group since she was 5 years old.
